I have enjoyed bird song around the world from Scotland, North America and New Zealand. Many of these avian vocal sounds I have recorded on 18 CD's. The dawn chorus is the primary time that birds sing, to establish a territory and attract a mate. I have illustrated some common examples, such as the American Robin and the Common Blackbird in Europe. Some of the birds have a special song at dawn and this is also illustrated. We humans hear these songs like an orchestral piece, but the birds have carved out an auditory territory amongst their own species. I have tried to illustrate the natural sounds that we humans enjoy, then delved a little deeper into the meaning of some of the bird sounds. This production was presented at the Festival of the Birds/ International Ornithological Congress Vancouver BC 2018.
